The School Board of Broward County, Florida received two (2) bids for Bid 15-013B ? Disposable Fiber Compartment Trays for Cafeterias. These are five compartment trays that are environmentally friendly and biodegradable, and are composed of a minimum of 70% recycled pre-consumer fibers utilized by students and Staff. Containers that hold food are placed on the compartment trays so students and staff can carry all of their food containers to an eating area at one time.
Supply Management & Logistics released an opportunity for vendors to submit descriptive literature and samples of disposable trays that met the district?s specifications. Samples that met the specifications would be included in Bid 15-013B as an approved brand. Food and Nutrition Services evaluated and tested samples and determined that only one brand met the required specifications.
The estimated financial impact will be $6,000,000. Funds to purchase the compartment trays come from various locations. The financial impact amount represents an estimated contract value; however the amount authorized will not exceed the estimated value.
