Acknowledge the submittal of the Public Charter Schools Grant Program Planning, Design and Implementation 2014 - 2017 applications. Amounts may vary depending on charter school requests. * Phase 1 - Planning and Program Design, $25,000 * Phase 2 - Implementation I, $175,000 * Phase 3 - Implementation II, $150,000 The purpose of the Public Charter Schools Federal Grant Program is to increase the number of high-quality charter schools and to improve student achievement by providing financial assistance for the planning, program design and implementation costs for charter schools. Priority is to first-year charter schools approved to open during the 2014-2015 school year. The Florida Department of Education, through the Office of Independent Education and Parental Choice, establishes the processes, procedures and accountability measures for CSP grants. District staff reviews the applications for completion and accuracy for any section supported by data.
