Adopt Resolution #12-65 in Support of Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, April 26, 2012. (TO BE OBSERVED BY BROWARD SCHOOLS ON MAY 3, 2012) The attached resolution recognizes the importance of Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day in Broward County Public Schools and its significance in providing opportunities for families, schools, communities, and employers in both the private and public sectors to focus their attention on students? career opportunities. This event is a meaningful way to enhance classroom instruction. It aligns ?real-world? applications to school curriculum, facilitates partnerships between schools and the business community, and enhances mentoring programs. The School Board of Broward County, Florida will observe Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on May 3, 2012. The National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day celebrated on April 26, 2012 conflicts with Broward Schools? Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) make-up day; therefore, some students may not be able to participate on April 26, 2012. There is no financial impact to the district. Requested Action Adopt Resolution #12-65, in support of Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, April 26, 2012.
