Quick Summary / Abstract
Approve the new Agreement between The School Board of Broward County, Florida and The City of Lauderhill A Florida Municipal Corporation. The contract period is April 1, 2014 through March 30, 2017. Career and Technical Education high school and adult postsecondary students, who are enrolled in Health Science Education Programs, participate in clinical learning experiences through contractual agreements with hospitals, nursing homes, municipal agencies and other healthcare related facilities. The New Agreement with The City of Lauderhill will provide Emergency Medical Responder/Firefighter 1 clinical experiences to Lauderhill 6-12 students, enrolled in the Introduction to Firefighting program. On-site clinical experiences are necessary to meet Florida Department of Education mandated student performance standards. This agreement also addresses the requirements of regulatory agencies for students to qualify for certification/licensure examinations upon program completion. This New Agreement has been reviewed and approved as to form and legal content by the Office of the General Counsel. There is no financial impact to the District.
