AGENDA FOR SPECIAL MEETING

 

 

This Special School Board Meeting will be conducted by Board Members via electronic communication. The meeting will also be live streamed. Due to Broward County Administrator's Emergency Order 20-01, public comments will be accepted on all agenda items in the following manner:  Any person may present live comments by attending the KC Wright Administration Building's Board Room at 600 Southeast Third Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. Pursuant to School Board Policy 1100A, in the event a large group of individuals (more than twenty (20) sign-up to speak on one agenda item, the Board Chair has the authority to adjust the time limit for each speaker to speak less than the three (3) minutes (which is approximately 400 words) usually permitted, and/or limit the overall time speakers will be heard on that item.

PURPOSE OF MEETING: For The School Board of Broward County, Florida to Conduct Official Business of the District, and any other items the Board deems necessary.

1. Life Insurance Company of the Southwest, D/B/A National Life Group vs. Broward County School Board and AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company (Supporting Docs)

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

(1) Consider the Recommended Order, rendered on March 24, 2020, by June C. McKinney, Administrative Law Judge, in the matter of Life Insurance Company of the Southwest, D/B/A National Life Group, Petitioner vs. Broward County School Board, Respondent and AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company, Intervenor, Case No. 19-5140BID; (2) Rule upon Petitioner's Exceptions and the Response thereto; (3) rule upon the School Board's Motion to Award Costs; and (4) render a final order based upon the actions in numbers (1) through (3) above.

 

The School Board issued RFP 19-5140BID for 403(b)/457(b) Program for School Board Employees. The Superintendent's Insurance and Wellness Advisory Committee (SIWAC) reviewed the proposals and recommended the award of contracts to three (3) of the four (4) proposers. A Proposal Recommendation/Tabulation was posted for the intended award to the proposers recommended by the Insurance Committee.
