December 12, 2017 – Leasing Corporation Meeting (Supporting Docs)

PURPOSE OF MEETING: For the Broward School Board Leasing Corporation to Adopt Resolution No. 18-01 – Certificates of Participation (COPs), Series 2018A – Refunding 2015C Floating Rate Note (FRN), and any other items the Board deems necessary.

SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATION:

1. Resolution No. 18-01 – Certificates of Participation (COPs), Series 2018A – Refunding 2015C Floating Rate Note (FRN) (Supporting Docs)

Adopt Resolution No. 18-01 - Certificates of Participation (COPs), Series 2018A - Refunding 2015C Floating Rate Note (FRN).

The District has two (2) variable rate Certificates of Participation (COPs) financings outstanding. The nature of these financings is that every three (3) years the structure of the financing is reviewed and conditions are negotiated (commonly referred to as remarketing). The COPs, Series 2015C, in the par amount of approximately $65 million, must be renegotiated by September 2018.

The attached documents have been reviewed and approved as to form and legal content by Bond Counsel.

The District will incur costs of issuance (approximately $220,000, already budgeted in the Treasurer's Office budget).
