PURPOSE OF MEETING: For The School Board of Broward County, Florida to Consider the Recommended Order, in the matter of Broward County School Board vs. Diane Louise Neville, and any other items the Board deems necessary.

 

SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATION:

 

1. Broward County School Board vs. Diane Louise Neville (Supporting Docs)

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

(1) Consider the Recommended Order, rendered on October 24, 2017, by Darren A. Schwartz, Administrative Law Judge, in the matter of Broward County School Board vs. Diane Louise Neville, Case No. 17-1180TTS, before the State of Florida Division of Administrative Hearings; (2) Rule upon Respondent's Exceptions to the Recommended Order and the Response thereto; and (3) Render a final order based upon the actions in numbers (1) and (2) above.

 

In February 2017, The School Board approved the recommendation from the Superintendent of Schools to suspend Ms. Diane Louise Neville, a teacher.

2. Resolution No. 18-98 - Certificates of Participation, Series 2017B - Refunding Series 2009A - BAB (Supporting Docs)

 

ADDED

 

Adopt Resolution No. 18-98 - Certificates of Participation, Series 2017B - Refunding Series 2009A - BAB.

 

Resolution No. 18-98 authorizes the refunding of all or a portion of the outstanding Certificates of Participation (COPs), Series 2009A -BAB (Build America Bonds) through the issuance of refunding Certificates of Participation, Series 2017B in the aggregate principal amount not to exceed $75,000,000; authorizes the execution of one or more Certificate Purchase Contracts; and approves the form of and authorizes the execution, if required, of the documents in the exhibit section below.

The District will realize approximately $6 million in net present value (NPV) savings over the next seventeen (17) years from the refunding COPs, Series 2017B. Actual savings may be higher or lower depending upon the market at the time of pricing.

 

3. Resolution No. 18-99 - Certificates of Participation, Series 2017C - Refunding Series 2011A & 2012A (Supporting Docs)

Adopt Resolution No. 18-99 - Certificates of Participation, Series 2017C - Refunding Series 2011A & 2012A.

 

Resolution No. 18-99 authorizes the refunding of all or a portion of the outstanding Certificates of Participation (COPs), Series 2011A & 2012A through the issuance of refunding Certificates of Participation, Series 2017C in the aggregate principal amount not to exceed $185,000,000; authorizes the execution of one or more Certificate Purchase Contracts; and approves the form of and authorizes the execution, if required, of the documents in the exhibit section below.
