CLOSE AGENDA

PURPOSE OF MEETING: For The School Board of Broward County, Florida to discuss and recommend  a  plan  of  action  for  H.B. 7069  relating  to  constitutional issues  affecting The School Board of Broward County, Florida, and any other items the Board deems necessary.

SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATION:

1. Authorization to challenge the constitutionality of HB 7069 by filing legal action with other School Districts (Supporting Docs)

Authorize the Superintendent and General Counsel to enter into an agreement to file legal action with other school districts to challenge the constitutionality of HB 7069.

Please see attached Memorandum - Constitutional Issues Related to HB 7069.

The total amount of funds needed is unknown at this time. Request authorization to spend $25,000. The source of funds is the General Counsel’s Department budget.

ADJOURNMENT
