PURPOSE OF MEETING:    For The School Board of Broward County, Florida to Consider the Recommended Order, in the matter of Broward County School Board vs. Silva of South Florida, Inc. d/b/a/ Pathways Academy K-8 Charter, and any other items the Board deems necessary.

 

SUPERINTENDENT'S RECOMMENDATION:

 

Superintendent's Recommendation

 

1. Broward County School Board vs. Silva of South Florida, Inc. d/b/a Pathways Academy K-8 Center (Supporting Docs)

 

(1) Consider the Recommended Order, rendered on January 9, 2017, by Robert E. Meale, Administrative Law Judge, in the matter of Broward County School Board vs. Silva of South Florida, Inc. d/b/a Pathways Academy K-8 Center, Case No. 16-2576, before the State of Florida Division of Administrative Hearings; (2) Rule upon Respondent's Exceptions to the Recommended Order and the Response thereto; and (3) Render a final order based upon the actions in numbers (1) and (2) above.

 

On April 19, 2016, The School Board voted to approve the issuance of a notice for the proposed termination of the charter school agreement for Silva of South Florida, Inc. under which Pathways Academy K-8 Center ("Pathways") operates in Broward County, Florida.

There is no financial impact to the District.
