PURPOSE OF MEETING: For The School Board of Broward County, Florida to Consider the Recommended Order, in the matter of Broward County School Board vs. Christopher Marshall, and any other items the Board deems necessary.

1. Broward County School Board vs. Christopher Marshall (Supporting Docs)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
(1) Consider the Recommended Order, rendered on March 24, 2016, by John G. Van Laningham, Administrative Law Judge, in the matter of Broward County School Board vs. Christopher Marshall, Case No. 14-3011TTS, before the State of Florida Division of Administrative Hearings; (2) Rule upon Petitioner's Exceptions to the Recommended Order and Respondent's Exceptions to the Recommended Order and the Responses thereto; and (3) Render a final order based upon the actions in numbers (1) and (2) above.
In June 2014, The School Board approved the recommendation from the Superintendent of Schools to suspend and terminate Mr. Christopher Marshall, a teacher.

There is no financial impact to the District if the School Board adopts the Recommended Order.
2. LSI, Learning & Performance Management through Tech, Training, and Certifications for Demonstration Classrooms for Rigor (POSTPONED 08/16/16 RSBM) (Supporting Docs)
ADDED
Approve Agreement with Learning Sciences International, LLC to continue providing professional development to teachers, school administrators by providing demonstration classroom which shall offer a setting of intensive, job-embedded training for principals and teachers as instructional leaders within a pathway of professional development, coaching and data support by May 15, 2017. The term of this agreement shall be for a period of one (1) year from the date it is fully executed by both parties.
Learning Sciences International, LLC is the exclusive developer and sole source provider of the technology, training, and certifications required to develop Demonstration Classrooms for Rigor. Districts electing to deploy Demonstration Classrooms for Rigor must select a minimum of ten buildings with a minimum of four teachers per building to serve as a cohort.

This agreement has been reviewed and approved as to form and legal content by the Office of the General Counsel.
This agreement will be executed by Learning Sciences International, LLC after School Board approval.
There is no financial impact to the general fund. The Agreement in the amount of $423,700 will be paid from the Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) competitive grant.
ADJOURNMENT
